Key Motors are currently seeking the following positions.

After Sales Consultant

This is a great opportunity to join a large reputable Townsville Business. Key Motors employs over 90 local staff and is North Queensland’s Award Winning Mazda and Subaru Dealer. Are you ready to join the Team and start a rewarding Career????

$60,000-$85,000+ a year selling vehicle protection and enhancement products! Chances are, you already have an idea of what this job entails because you know someone that works in the industry or you’ve bought a vehicle from a dealership and thought you could do better!

I can promise you, that the day-to-day life of a After Sales Consultant is nothing like what you might think. So what requirements do we have? All the normal criteria that you have read on other ads still apply…. That is, you need to be motivated, driven, fast learner, love dealing with people. However, below are areas which I feel are important to know BEFORE you apply.

We offer a suite of Vehicle Protection, Security and Enhancement options, backed by MotorOne. Having a sales or customer service based background would be advantageous, as showing our customers the benefits of these products.

Determination – the one key attribute I tend to see that makes one person twice as successful as another is simply their own will. They are determined and driven to achieve. They get to the customer faster, they hone their product knowledge every day, they practice their process and just like every successful Broadway show in history they rehearse. Don’t get me wrong, you can fly by the seat of your pants and get some sort of result, but to truly succeed to feel good about your efforts and make really good money, you need to practice your craft every day. Come to work to work!

The hours are long!! OK. This isn’t strictly true……. Those from a hospitality background, tell me we have it easy in the motor trade. We start at 8.30 and finish at 5.30. That’s long enough. Sorry to say, if you are looking for a 9-5 with a full hour for lunch, then perhaps you should look elsewhere. We work Saturdays (unless it’s Christmas, New Year’s Day or Easter).

Communication is of paramount importance! And I don’t just mean being fluent in English. LISTENING is possibly twice as important and is one of the reasons we have two ears and only one mouth! I’ve witnessed salespeople talking themselves out of a deal…. Don’t just hear… Listen!

Sense of humour and a really thick skin! You have GOT to be able to laugh at yourself, and make every day enjoyable. There is a lot of rejection in sales, but if you do a great job, the best you can, with every single guest, then you will be successful, there is a lot to be said for being resilient.

Presentation is important. VERY important. You need to appear business like in presentation but still be approachable. Remember, salespeople are the face of the company so first impressions count. As a professional you will have shiny shoes, tidy hair and dress appropriately.

You should be a computer whiz! OK slight exaggeration again everything we do is based on PC. So you need to be able to type with both hands and navigate your way around a PC.

If you are still reading and you are ambitious with a strong desire to succeed, CONGRATULATIONS. Apply Now! Send me your resume and cover letter. If you want to know more email me.
